Sires and dams are tested for
hip dysplasia (OFA radiographs), eyes (CERF exam), skin (sebaceous
adenitis skin punch), thyroid (FT4D assessment), blood (von Willebrand's
DNA), and brain developmental disease (neonatal encephalopathy
DNA). Test results and pedigrees are available online at www.offa.org.

All Jolfan puppies go to their
new homes with an unconditional guarantee that they may be returned
at any time, for any reason and the purchase price will be refunded.
Jolfan follows Jean Dodds', DVM,
extended vaccination schedule; please click
here to view. The puppies' first vet exam is
given when tails are docked and dew claws are removed, then at
9 to 10 weeks they have their first puppy vaccinations and microchips
are implanted for permanent identification. Puppies go to their
new homes between 10 to 12 weeks of age. We prefer that new owners
come to our home to pick up their puppies; however, at 12 weeks
of age they can travel by air on nonstop flights.

Poodles are one of the most intelligent
breeds. They constantly amaze and delight all who know them with
their happy personalities, willingness to please their loved ones,
and their devotion. They are happiest when they have a job, whether
it's carrying their own water on a hike, helping prune your bushes,
or retrieving water fowl, and the job they treasure above all
others is being their owner's very best friend. Standard Poodles
are curious, adventuresome, and athletic. They believe that the
world is here for them to explore; a 6-foot tall fence is mandatory
for their safety.

We make every
effort to place our puppies with responsible, loving and dedicated
owners. To ensure that each puppy and his or her new owner are a
good match, prospective puppy buyers are asked to complete an application,
including references. (Puppy
Application) We want to remain in contact with
our puppy buyers throughout the puppy's life. We keep a folder for
each puppy, and photos, health information and news of his or her
activities and accomplishments are added to the folder and may be
posted on our web site for all to view and enjoy. |

Jolfan's goal is to preserve the quality and
integrity of the Standard Poodle for future generations. We breed infrequently
to produce our next show prospect; therefore, we have only a limited
number of puppies for placement. Companion puppies are sold with Limited
AKC Registration and a spay or neuter contract; they are eligible for
participation in AKC performance events, such as Obedience, Agility,
Tracking, and Herding, but not conformation shows which are designed
to feature future breeding prospects.
Show prospects are sold with full AKC Registration,
breeding rights, and are eligible to compete in conformation shows as
well as AKC performance events.
We do not approve of nor condone crossbreeding
of any AKC registered dog. In our opinion, the planned breeding and
selling of any "designer dog" is unethical and detrimental to the health
and future of all purebred dogs.
